Protect and share our wonderful earth heritage

Our Vales & Dales project, supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund, concluded in October 2010 and yet it lives on through our links with the Rosedale community and the two trail guides and earth heritage booklet we produced.

In the Geology Trust Events Programme for 2011, Rosedale features through:
- joint guided walks with Paddy Chambers to Rosedale Bank Top and Rosedale East,
- our presence for the 5th year at the Rosedale Show (we share our marquee with the Rosedale History Society) and
- the History Society's Heritage Days at the Updale Reading Rooms on 10th & 11th September.

Another aspect of the project, which lives on is our two trail guides North and South Rosedale and the earth heritage booklet 'When the Devil came to Rosedale'. Three quarters of the published trails and booklets were given to the Rosedale community to raise funds for their own future projects.

This is another example of what makes the Geology Trust special. Projects don't stop when the funding stops.
