The Passage Beds set show what you will see when you, take a walk along the Marine Drive in Scarborough and you will invariably look up at the rocks in the cliff face but if you cast your eyes downwards and look at the humble little wall at the back of the parking spaces which encircle the Castle cliff you will be amazed. These are a tiny selection of the thousands of fossils which you can see if cross the road ( carefully) and look at the wall closely. The wall is made up of rocks from the Passage Beds and the Hambleton Oolite. They are from the Corallian rocks of the Upper Jurassic period and are about 161 million years old.
